Welcome to the University Park Azalea Classic website! This spring’s 9th Annual Azalea Classic promises to be fun for the whole family.
Everyone is invited to the Azalea Classic Health Fair on Friday, April 16 from 4-8PM at UPES. Free screenings and valuable health information for the whole family!
Here are some new Azalea Classic features to help you & your family get ready for this family-friendly fitness event to benefit the UPES PTA:
Tips from a Trainer: We are pleased to welcome Robert Geter as our new Azalea Classic Trainer. Robert is a Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Certified Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant , and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Check out Robert’s weekly tips for getting ready to run the challenging Azalea Classic 5k – then join him for a pre-race warm-up session on race day Saturday, April 17!
Training Run for Fun: Thanks for joining us for our training run on March 20th, we look forward to seeing you on April 17th!
Shop Local/Run Local: We are working with local and locally-owned Azalea Classic business sponsors to support shopping local. Look for specials discounts and promotions offered to you by these valued supporters of the Azalea Classic! (Check out our new Azalea Classic reusable totes – available for purchase at packet pick-up and perfect for shopping local!)
Fight Childhood Obesity: In the US, nearly 1 in 3 kids are obese or overweight. We want to change that and you can help, too! UPES PTA is working closely with our teachers and Principal to get every UPES student to participate in this year’s Azalea Classic. With permission from a parent, UPES students who can’t afford the entry fee can participate for a reduced rate and still receive the official Azalea Classic t-shirt and medal. At packet pick-up on Friday, April 16, you can join this effort by making a small donation to help cover the cost of subsidizing student participation.
See you this spring!
